PANAJI: Chief minister Pramod Sawant on Thursday said that the people of the state and tourists visiting the state should not panic over the imposition of Section 144 in North Goa.
Based on intelligence reports specifying terrorist threats to the western coast of India, the North Goa collector has imposed restrictions on cyber cafes as well.
Sawant told Reporters it was a “routine notification” which has been issued by the North Goa collector, based on the instruction of the police to keep the force alert. “It is issued every six months,” the CM said.
“No government event including carnival will be disturbed due to the notification,” Sawant said.
Several political parties had expressed apprehension over the imposition of Section 144 in the state.
