Government effects bureaucratic reshuffle

The state government has carried out a bureaucratic reshuffle and appointed Indian Administrative Service officer, Ravi Jha as the  director of environment.

Another IAS officer, Amit Satija has been appointed as the CEO of the Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG), with an immediate effect, replacing Ameya Abhyankar.

Jha has been transferred from his present post of Special Secretary (Industries), while Satija will continue to be the Excise Commissioner. 

In another order, government has reshuffled the works and departments allotted to all the secretaries of government of Goa. 

Parimal Rai, the Chief Secretary will handle vigilance, home and personnel, while Puneet Kumar will be in charge of power, forest and environment.

P Krishnamurthy will be Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, while W V R Murthy will handle social welfare.

Daulat Hawaldar will be in charge of finance, mines and geology, fisheries, agriculture and town and country planning, while P S Reddy will handle ports, river navigation and information and publicity.

Ameya Abhyankar is in charge of information technology and labour and employment, while Nila Mohanan will handle education and revenue.

Govind Jaiswal is in charge of transport and law and judiciary.

Meanwhile, Dr Jose D’Sa has taken over as the new director of health services.
