Minister for Public Works and Transport Ramakrishna ‘Sudin’ Dhavalikar, who was admitted to a Mumbai-based hospital on July 9, underwent angioplasty and is recovering.

Brushing aside all rumours, Deepak, the younger brother of the minister, said, “He has undergone angiography on Monday and is in good health, and would soon return to Goa to attend the forthcoming monsoon session of the state legislative assembly.”

As per the statement by Dr Sandeep Dhavalikar, the

other brother of the state cabinet minister, the patient is in good hands and recovering well.

“All are sincerely requested not to speculate about his health,” the statement informed, adding, “We are sure that the blessings of Goan people are with him and he is expected to be back to work in few days.”

The highly-placed sources informed that the minister had gone to Chennai, earlier this week for a routine medical check-up and was prescribed some particular tests by the doctors from the Chennai hospital. “He was brought to Mumbai where he underwent angiography, and some tests were also conducted on him,” these sources maintained.

Dhavalikar is the third Goa minister following the Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar, and the Power Minister Pandurang Madkaikar to be admitted in a hospital in recent times. Another cabinet minister Francis D’Souza has been ailing for long and is weak in health.
