The health of Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar has improved and he has started taking regular walks in his residential colony premises at Dona Paula.

Confirming the news, the office of the Chief Minister stated that Parrikar has started taking walks for the past few days.

“He is comfortable and is regularly taking stroll, even though it is for a limited time,” it was informed.

It has also been informed by reliable sources that Parrikar, who had earlier stopped solid food intake, has now started consuming solid food.

“Health-wise he is now in a better state, especially after receiving the much needed rest,” reliable sources added, pointing out that the treatment prescribed by the US-based health facility as well as the New Delhi-based All India Institute of Medical Sciences  is presently being administered to the Chief Minister.

It is also learnt that the Chief Minister is regularly taking stock of the administration through the bureaucrats.

The Chief Minister was diagnosed with the pancreatic cancer at the beginning of this year, and was treated at various hospitals in and outside the
country.

Parrikar’s return to Goa from the AIIMS last month on a stretcher had spread sombre mood among the people of Goa as well as the admirers. A medically-equipped room was also set up at the Chief Minister’s residence, with a team of doctors
from the Goa Medical College deputed in his
service.
