Vedanta Will comply with government guidelines

PANAJI: Following outrage by locals living in Sonshi village due to massive pollution caused by the trucks transporting iron ore, Vedanta has said that it will adhere to the state government's guidelines to minimize pollution.

In a statement that was released by the company, Vedanta claimed that it has already undertaken necessary route diversions of the transportation of ore from mines, to bypass residential areas of Sonshi village.

"We are committed to the welfare of all stakeholders and will abide by directions of the government," Vedanta's statement read.
