Margao: Refering to an incident on Thursday morning where upset locals blocked NH 66 at Verna in protest against two fatal accidents that had occurred on Wednesday, former Nuvem MLA Francisco 'Mickky' Pacheco lashed out at the protesters for the "inconveniences" caused to commuters on that route.
"There is no need to take law and order in your hands. I am not opposing the agitation, but do it lawfully, by approaching the government authorities. I could understand if a representation given to the government wasn't fulfilled," Pacheco said, adding that he had met with chief minister Manohar Parrikar, transport minister Ramkrishna 'Sudin' Dhavalikar and South Goa collector Swapnil Naik, and requested that they contact the national highway authority and install the required speed-breakers that had been removed for the 2016 Brics Summit.
