Panaji: FC Goa’s Spanish striker Ferran Corominas and defender Mohammed Ali were taken to a nearby hospital in an ambulance after FC Goa’s Indian Super League (ISL) clash against Jamshedpur FC but officials said there is no reason to worry.
Coro, who is leading the goal-scoring charts with nine goals from as many matches, complained of uneasiness after FC Goa’s 2-1 victory at the Nehru Stadium in Fatorda on Thursday. Doctors on hand referred him to the hospital where, after a general check-up, it was discovered that his immune system was low.

“There is nothing to worry. Coro felt a little bit nauseated (after the match) and, as a precautionary measure, was taken to the hospital,” said a club official.

Defender Mohammed Ali was also in the same ambulance that was rushed to a hospital in Margao.

According to sources, Ali felt uncomfortable after clashing with a rival player on the field. He continued bravely and fortunately for the former Dempo defender, scans did not reveal anything untoward.

“They were discharged the same night,” said the official.

FC Goa’s victory over Jamshedpur FC took them to the top four with 16 points at the end of the first leg. They were tied on points with FC Pune City – who defeated them at home – but have an inferior goal average. Fears that FC Goa have become predictable after securing just a point from three matches were also blown away as Manuel Lanzarote struck a brace that floored the visitors.

FC Goa will next play Kerala Blasters in an away clash on January 21 before returning home to take on the might of Mumbai City FC on January 28.
