Irregular water supply irks Vagator Chapora locals

Mapusa: Agitated over erratic water supply over the past couple of months, the villagers of Vagator-Chapora have demanded for regular supply of water or else they have threatened to block the roads in the village.

The villagers raised their grievances in a joint meeting in the presence of WRDminister Vinod Palyekar and PWD officials.

The residents of Vagator-Chapora have been facing hardships as the village has not been receiving regular water supply. A joint meeting was called with the WRD minister and Siolim MLA Vinod Palyekar and Anjuna sarpanch Savio Almeida.

PWD (water supply) officials were also present for the interaction with the villagers. The villagers brought to the notice of the minister and PWD officials that Vagator- Chapora area has not been receiving regular water supply.

This has resulted in inconvenience faced by residents. Villagers also accused the lineman of not operating the water valves effectively, due to which, a part of village has not been receiving regular water supply.

WRD minister Palyekar said, "I shall meet the PWD minister and will request him to resolve the issue by making a permanent provision."
