Mapusa: A team of Goa police will set out for Ahmedabad, Gujarat, in search of people connected with the interstate Indian Premier League (IPL) betting racket that was busted at Anjuna, on Tuesday.
Sources said the trio arrested in the case had 40 customers, all from Ahmedabad, and that there was every possibility of the involvement of more people.
According to the Anjuna police, the gang took bets over cellphones in an attempt to stay off the radar.
Acting on a tip-off, police on Tuesday arrested Kiransingh Vaghela, 32, and Jayanti Vaghela, 33, both residents of Ahmedabad, Gujarat, along with Narendra Singh, 33, of Agra, Uttar Pradesh, for accepting bets during an IPL match between Delhi Daredevils and Kolkata Knight Riders, in a resort room, at Gaumvaddi, Anjuna.
Cash amounting to Rs 15,270, two laptops, 11 cellphones, one LED TV and a set-top box were seized from the three accused.
