Cop complains of uneasiness dies

Mapusa: A police constable who was on duty, died while receiving treatment at the North Goa district hospital, Peddem, on Thursday.

Sources said constable Sanyog Tari was on patrolling duty at Mapusa, when he returned to the town's police station on Thursday afternoon, complaining of uneasiness. He was rushed to the district hospital but succumbed while receiving treatment.

SP (traffic) Devesh Kumar Mahla, deputy SP traffic (north) Dharmesh Angle, PI Sudesh Narvekar and PI Tushar Vernekar visited the district hospital, sources said.

Mapusa police conducted a panchanama and sent Tari's body to GMC, Bambolim, for a postmortem examination.

The exact cause of death is not yet known.
