Assam native arrested in theft case

MARGAO: The Konkan Railway Police on Friday arrested 41-year-old Jasuddin Ali Lashkar, a native of Silchar, Assam, from Margao railway station, and recovered cash of Rs 9 lakh and 3 mobile phones from his possession.

Police sources informed that the accused was working with a scrap trader in Mangaluru, and is suspected to have stolen the money from his employer. The accused then hired a cab to Margao with the stolen booty, and was nabbed while he was waiting to board a train at the railway station.
