4 women accused of theft nabbed

Mapusa: Mapusa police on Friday arrested four women from Karnataka in connection with two theft cases reported at two establishments in Mapusa.

Police said that Vikas Maluram, supervisor of a establishment had, on August 6, lodged a complaint stating that unidentified person entered their company through the window and stole electronic items worth Rs 50,000.

Another theft was also reported in another establishment where a cell phone and some other items were stolen. Mapusa police were informed about the incident and had conducted the panchanama. Upon screening the establishment's CCTV footage, four womens were found to be the culprits.

On Friday evening a Mapusa police team successfully nabbed the four women.

The accused have been identified as Sonaibai Lamani, 60, Renuka Lamani, 30, Rukhi Lamani, 30, and Chandrawani Lamani,30.

Mapusa police are further investigating the case.
