209 more people are COVID positive

Panaji: The state recorded 209 new cases of the COVID-19 pandemic on Friday, even as around 206 COVID patients recovered from the disease in the last 24 hours.

The confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Goa currently stand at 5,913; of which 1,657 are active, while 4,211 people have defeated the virus.

The state has seen 45 COVID fatalities, till date. 

According to the directorate of health services, the 1,657 active cases include 39 persons who travelled to Goa from outside by road, rail and air.

A majority of the active COVID-19 cases in Goa fall under the jurisdiction of the urban health centre of Vasco with 383 cases, the primary health centre of Cortalim has 347 cases, the UHC Margao has 112 cases, while the PHC Ponda has recorded 92 cases within its jurisdiction.

The community health centres from where the cases are emerging are Bicholim (5), Sankhali (39), Pernem (7), Valpoi (13), Curchorem (10) and Canacona (3). The other UHCs include Mapusa (51) and Panaji (78).

The COVID cases are also surfacing from the jurisdiction of PHCs that include Aldona (10), Betki (12), Candolim (42), Cansarvanem (6), Colvale (37), Corlim (10), Chimbel (81), Siolim (15), Porvorim (21), Mayem (5),  Balli (33), Cansaulim (19), Chinchinim (2), Curtorim (37), Loutolim (40), Marcaim (17), Quepem (9), Sanguem (7), Shiroda (14), Dharbandora (34), and Navelim (27).
