Two more COVID cases have come to light in Saligao on Friday. Mother and uncle of a COVID patient from Bairo-Alto, Saligao have tested positive.

Health officer at PHC Candolim Dr Roshan Nazareth informed that “tests of high risk contacts of the young COVID patient from Bairo-Alto, Saligao, were carried out. Mother and uncle of the young boy have tested positive. Few days back his father had tested positive. Only his brother tested negative for COVID.”

Meanwhile, on the seventh day, swab samples of the people staying in the building at Kudaswaddo, Arpora, in which a
family had tested positive for COVID, were collected.

“Even swab samples of 70 people residing  at Betim, Reis Magos, on the seventh day, were taken. The previous test reports of the residents had come negative. Tests were done immediately after we found COVID cases, but the health department undertakes tests after seven days after the people are quarantined for 14 days, as a precautionary measure,” added Dr Nazareth.
